Value Equity Team

  • The Value Equity team seeks to identify small- to SMID-cap companies that are a good value and timely to own. The team's definition of value is flexible, based upon three different types of value characteristics—intrinsic value, relative value, and contrarian value.
  • The broad approach, combined with the team's focus on identifying companies with an unrecognized positive dynamic for change, maximizes the potential for our portfolios to perform well in any given market environment.
  • The team's process combines quantitative front-end screens with rigorous bottom-up fundamental analysis. The analysis involves evaluating companies whose stock is at an inflection point and exhibits some positive dynamic that will drive stock price appreciation. The combination of buying cheap stocks with positive dynamics tends to limit downside while allowing for significant upside appreciation and minimizes the potential for value traps.
